July Report
Greetings to all,
Just wanted to let everyone know that we at the H.C.D. are still alive and well, and finally with a little nicer weather getting to do a little more road time.
And with it being the month of July feeling a little more patriotic, with Memorial day and the fourth and all.
We have had some interesting things occur in the month of May with Cinders our a.d.m. getting out and convincing Mayor Skoogs of Prescott Valley to declare the month of May as MOTORCYCLE AWARENESS MONTH at which time they presented H.C.D. with a proclamation as such, and on more encouraging note also agreed to be willing to discuss options for informing the public on biker safety and presence , such as signs . Its nice to see a town thats willing to meet and work with us, thanks to Colin for all your hard work and time on this.
On a more patiotic note,we at H.C.D. would like to say thanks to all that have served this country which what has allowed us to live free, so THANKS TO ALL THAT HAVE AND ARE SERVING TO PROTECT THIS COUNTRY,THANKS TO THOSE THOSE THAT HAVE MADE THE SACRIFICE,SPECIAL THANKS TO THOSE THAT MADE THE ULTIMATE SACRIFICE,YOU WILL NOT BE FORGOTTEN!
On a more negative note I am aware of a situation where a V.F.W. has aproached some major lending institutions for a loan to expand their existing hall and have been denied for their non-profit status and just outright turned down pretty much for no reason. Awe! the banks have struck again, for life of me I cannot understand because without the members of this organization they would not be in business today, not to mention the billions they have made writting government secured loans for the last fifty years. MAN WHAT A TRAVESTY!
I also caught a story about a veteran who was standing up for something he believed in and it got to the point where blows were thrown, at which point serval people got involved and broke up the scuffle, this didn't bother me so much as the comment about the individual that was made afterwards, it was to the effect of him having "JOHN WAYNE SYNDROME" ARE WE TO BELIEVE THAT IF WE ARE TO STAND UP PASSIONATELY FOR WHAT WE BELIEVE THAT WE NOW SUFFER FROM SOME DISEASE? IF SO WHERE DO I SIGN UP?
Remember that those that aren't willing to stand up and call it like you see it during toublesome times soon will have no voice in what it is going on!
Folks, get out and ride, when you get the chance, talk to others that ride so that we may be strong when the times come where someone wants to resrict or take away our freedoms as bikers and Americans.
Stay safe, and remember shiny side up.
