AMSAF opens Member Project program to the Arizona public at-large
December 30, 2018, Peoria, Arizona – Arizona Motorcycle Safety and Awareness Foundation (AMSAF), a non-profit foundation focused on reducing Arizona motorcycle crashes and the number of distracted drivers, announces the formation of a novel membership program for the public.
Beginning in January 2019, AMSAF will accept membership applications from supporters and any individual or business that cares about reducing crashes and deaths on Arizona roadways.
“Membership in the new Member Project is not only an investment in enhancing driver and rider safety on Arizona roadways but also is one of the most important ways an individual or business can support AMSAF – and in turn, fellow citizens – in its goal to reduce driver/rider crashes and fatalities and to help keep our citizens safe,” says Mick Degn, AMSAF’s executive director.
The Member Project allows members to share in AMSAF’s hands-on approach to safety and awareness.
The purpose of the membership program is to increase involvement in AMSAF with regard to promoting safety and sharing the road with all types of vehicular traffic. The public is encouraged to become involved with the organization and its cause and be more familiar with vehicular safety issues, prevention of roadway deaths and injuries and how to share the road with motorcycle riders and others.
“AMSAF has excellent turnouts for all type of events,” adds Degn. “Members will enjoy well-organized projects, camaraderie and have fun in the process. This vital work is only possible if the organization grows and develops memberships that progressively support this safety vision for the future.”
Key membership benefits are:
• individuals have the opportunity to help AMSAF increase exposure
• provide literature and handouts to members of the public to further promote awareness
• fees collected from members can be applied to AMSAF’s safety and awareness funds allowing for more riders to attend training schools and to receive the Arizona-required motorcycle endorsement on their driver’s license
• make new contacts in the motorcycle and driving communities
• help raise/share awareness
• receive an AMSAF patch and pin and identification card will be provided annually upon membership renewal
Members pay an annual membership fee and receive all of the appropriate AMSAF credentials.
“Membership in the Arizona Motorcycle Safety & Awareness Foundation (AMSAF) is not only an investment in enhancing driver and rider safety on Arizona roadways, but it also is one of the most important ways an individual or business can support AMSAF in its goal to reduce driver/rider crashes and fatalities and to help keep our citizens safe,” says Degn.
The Arizona Motorcycle Safety & Awareness Foundation (AMSAF), a 501c(3) non-profit organization, works with the State of Arizona, business partners and sponsors including local businesses, healthcare, police departments, insurance, legal and other prominent entities and individuals, to help decrease the number of distracted and DUI-impaired drivers and to provide scholarships, statewide, to train motorcyclists how to ride more defensively. Our overall mission is safety awareness to reduce the phenomenal number of crashes and fatalities on our roadways.
The Share the Road campaign
The Share the Road campaign is a statewide public awareness effort aimed at focusing Arizona motorists on the critical need to be undistracted when driving and 2) provide scholarships, statewide, to train motorcyclists how to drive more defensively.
This multi-pronged movement, which is geared to reduce the number of crashes and fatalities on Arizona roads, is supported and promoted by the Arizona governor, the Governor’s Office of Highway Safety (AZGOHS), The Arizona Motorcycle Safety & Awareness Foundation (AMSAF) and its many supporters.
